9/16/26: i don't think i can go to the wow signal tour so i'm gonna yearn and yap about the set list instead

Yeah whatever I didn't even wanna hear Hysteria live anyway (I absolutely would have died to). That song has such a special place in my heart and the guitar in the latter half is so melodic and beautiful, to hear it live would just amplify that beauty. I can just imagine sitting/standing/idking there, hearing the intro bass and just knowing I would be witnessing Hysteria with my own two eyes and ears... beautiful thought.

Rewinding a bit because I got ahead of myself but Hexagons... I am an old Muse girly through and through but Hexagons would be sooo killer to see live. The production and the slow introduction of all the sounds within it in the intro just to break down to the acoustic guitar ooh I love. Cryogen however, I will never form a stable opinion about you. I love it and I hate it, it really is a toss up. As for Supermassive Black Hole I will always have a solid opinion, I love her so much. Never has SBH ever been on a consistent playlist of mine but everytime I happen to hear it, I love it even more. It relies so heavily on the bass throughout the song but espeically in the post-bridge portion and I love it so so much. Justice for bass lines and the rythm section in general!

Won't Stand Down, like many other new Muse songs I cannot seem to form a solid opinion on so I'll leave it at that. Map of the Problematique is such a distinctly Muse song, the breakdowns the variety of instruments, I feel like it's the perfect song to squish in the middle of new Muse songs as it kind of emphasizes those aspects in those newer songs and shows that there exists that through line within all of their music. Also the more subdued instrumentals of this song (besides the outro) offer a break from some of the heavier stuff that is before and after the song. I can imagine swaying and looking at the stars during Madness. I have no musical input or proper critique but I need y'all to know that. Already past the midway point, they finally slip in Plug in Baby being our only reminents of Origin of Symmetry. Just a bit heartbroken about that and I understand it was released 25 years ago but anyway, I digress. I love Plug In Baby and I think it's a perfect bridge between Madness and Time is Running Out, just moving from a more subdued and melodic sound to I don't know how else to describe Time is Running Out.

TIME IS RUNNING OUTT. I don't know if you can tell but I love Absolution. I think the drums really carry Time is Running Out well obviously with the guitars. I think it's really interesting how the guitars and drums kind of meld together for the verse but really diverge in the prechorus. Continuing on from the prechorus, I love the way the drums operate in the second prechorus. In the first prechorus they're really building the energy by just repeated hits of the floor tom and snare but for the second it's more melodic with a majority of the kit being used. It's almost slowing down the instrumentals this time around instead of overtly ramping them up.

I think everything that's needed to be said about Uprising has been said before by someone much more eloquent with their words than me so I'll leave it at that. My favorite part however is the breakdown closer to the end just before the last chorus which I was horrified to hear is cut short in the radio edit. I love the opening of Knights of Cydonia, I never recognize the earlier bit of the intro but the BUMM BUMM BUMM gets me so in the mood for the song to follow. The random beach-rock guitars and the trumpet really do it for me, it's a whole lot of what the fuck and I love it for that. Okay... Nightshift Superstar is actually groovy as fuck. Yeahhh not very Muse but I love whatever the hell is going on and the slap bass if I'm hearing correctly. You know what, stamp of approval from me. Not the sound I'm really listening to Muse for but I appreciate it either way.

I love Undisclosed Desires. The sampled strings with the more electronic sound make it feel so mysterious and play into the whole theme of The Resistance UGH I love The Resistance. Also let's just take a momnet for the synth because I love the use of synth in this song. STARLIGHT, I saw an Interview With the Vampire edit to Starlight and it was actually so beautiful. The hopeful sounding piano which breaks down into the guitar and drums in the mid-section which is carried back over to the piano with the bass, amazing. Beautiful, no notes I love. They must've cooked up Take a Bow to be the perfect concert ending song which is kind of ironic given it's the first track on Black Holes and Revelations but I love it. The way it kind of descends into even more and more sound until finally all hitting a more consistent ending, yep perfect I think. Anyway, thanks for listening to my rant as I cope with the loss of my hope and if any of you can go watch it I hope you have an amazing time!
