Love Deluxe By Sade

Love Deluxe by Sade

Best piece of music ever ever ever. An absolutely beautiful album about love, in it’s many shapes showcasing familial love even through inequity within Pearls and Feel No Pain while also exploring romantic love in the rest of the songs. I absolutely adore all the songs on the album but my personal favorite is Pearls. I love the way the imitation strings really take the head in the latter half of the song with the repition of the lyrics earlier in the song almost showing that nothing was resolved and the famine that she is describing remains even past the end of the song.

Vida De Perros Artwork

Vida De Perros by Los Bunkers

Listen to Los Bunkers… I love them so so much and even though my favorite song by them (Una Nube Cuelga Sobre Mí) isn’t on this album, I love the overall feeling of this album and the cohesion throughout it’s entirety. Ven Aquí really establishes the feeling that would carry throughout the whole album while allowing it to be a song in it’s own right which I often find lacking in albums that feel overtly cohesive. Maribel and Ahora Que No Estás at the midway mark also feels so intentional and beautiful, just this heartfelt depressing ballad immediately followed by a bouncy bitter song feels so fitting for this album and what would become of the second half of it.

KM3 Artwork

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me by The Cure

A hot take, I know. I love disintegration as much as the next girl but something about KM3 entices me. Thematically, Disintegration and Pornography are more cohesive but I think the lack of cohesion in KM3 almost makes me love it more. Genuienly how is 'If Only Tonight We Could Sleep?' right before 'Why Can’t I Be You?’, I don’t know but I love it. I discovered All I Want around junior year of high school and it changed my life. The undertones of The Cure’s sound with the newer and more pop-like guitar riffs really just sell the whole thing for me. Also Just Like Heaven has such a special place in my heart for a very special person and that makes me love this album even more.

Absolution Artwork

Absolution by Muse

Origin of Symmetry this, The Resistance that… No I will ride with Absolution through and through. It’s so cohesive but also so unique in every song and I love Hysteria I am so sorry, it is not niche at all but I love Hysteria with my whole being. Also just in general this song feels both mischevious and calming and enticing and everything ever. I feel as though Endlessly almost ends what Sing for Absolution starts I don’t know if that makes sense but having them at the top and bottom end of the album feels so fulfilling to me. I love this album so much and I’m suprised my cd isn’t scratched into oblivion with how much I listen to it.

Twilight Artwork

Twilight by Bôa

I SAW THIS SHIT LIVE. Magical experience in my opinion though people kept shouting for them to play Duvet which at this point, is my least favorite song off the album. I love songs that begin calm and kind of devolve into more intensity over the course of the song and this album is full of songs that fit that MO. The lead singer also just has such a beautifully strong voice which was even more impressive live which I didn’t think was even possible.  Go listen to Twilight please. Or don’t but just know you’re missing out.

Grace Artwork

Grace by Jeff Buckley

This album is so strong. Every song is filled with so much emotion it feels invasive even listening. The drums and guitar while the most conistent instruments throughout the album, they are utilized in such different ways throughout the album. With grittier songs and those which seem to flow,  I just love this album so so much. My favorite song is Forget Her, this song is so incredibly beautiful, the use of the organ and drums in the last chorus makes me want to start screaming this song anytime I hear it. Absolutely love.
